Procure South West Showcasing local industry capability

The Bunbury Geographe Chamber of Commerce and Industry is proud to be a major participant in the South West Chambers of Commerce and Industry (SWCCI).  The SWCCI was formed in 1994 and the members are the active Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the South West region.  The objects of the association include the promotion of trade and industry in the South West region and this has been accomplished through very successful South West Focus events.

The next planned event, ‘Procure South West – Showcasing local industry capability’, will be held on 24 – 25 November 2017 in the impressive Automotive Centre at South Regional TAFE Bunbury.  This venue has the capacity to host concurrent forum sessions and exhibits from the smallest innovative tech company to large machinery. This two day event will comprise of a trade show, key industry speakers, information sharing forums, careers, networking opportunities and collaborative sessions.

The key drivers of Procure South West are to:

  • Showcase the ability of local businesses to meet the needs of major industries.
  • Encourage government and major industries to invest in local goods and services – create jobs.
  • Build the capacity of local businesses to meet the current and emerging needs of major industries.
  • Provide the opportunity for major industries to inform, collaborate with and support South West businesses.
  • Create, nurture and grow South West business relationships within and across industries.
  • Encourage ideas sharing and problem solving to promote innovation across all industries.
  • Provide a platform for career information opportunities.

The South West Focus Committee is another demonstration of the collaboration between Government and Business with representation from the South West Development Commission (SWDC), Regional Development Australia SW (RDA SW), South West Chambers of Commerce and Industry (SWCCI), Bunbury Wellington Economic Alliance (BWEA), Chamber of Minerals and Energy SW (CME) and  South West and Warren Blackwood Alliance of Councils.
