April Business After Hours – Bunbury Turf Club
April 28 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pmFree
The Bunbury Turf Club has been part of the local community since 1874 and will celebrate its 150th year in business in 2024.
After the recent success of the inaugural Furphy Bunbury Cup on a standalone Saturday (which saw 7,000 patrons celebrate a day at the races in early March), the Club is now set to enter a hiatus for 18 months to complete a $20 million track redevelopment.
This redevelopment will transform the venue into a year-round racing facility (currently 6 months) with a capacity to run 35 race meetings a season (an improvement on the current 20 meetings).
The project will also deliver outstanding new training facilities for local participants who currently use the venue 6 days a week. These new facilities will be the envy of all trainers in WA.
The project will assist in building a brighter future for the Western Australian racing industry, as well as provide important economic benefits to the local community.
A recent economic study of the project revealed that by FY2029 the project will produce $36.2 million in direct expenditure for the local region each year, as well as sustain 253 full-time-equivalent roles.
We are excited to be hosting the April Business After Hours
