BGCCI President’s Report – September 2019
September is a month for change – a change of season, a breath of fresh air, and new life springing up around us and a cold blast of winter to remind us not to be complacent.
The local business and government communities in Bunbury Geographe have followed similar patterns, with a last week’s AGM electing a new diverse Executive Committee of committed and energised business leaders to herald in an exciting and challenging phase for the South West Business Association.
The new board consists of:
President Rob Skipsey (Rocoll Management and Training)
Vice President David Byatt (Moshi Moshi Marketing)
Secretary Donna Bamkin (Platinum Finance)
Treasurer Neill Rowlandson
Lesley Nelson (SWAMS)
Anna Bagshaw (Forest Personnel)
Georgina Grove (Protech)
Bernice Butlion (SW Academy of Sport)
Emma Fishburn (ECU)
Alex Doble (Bunbury Turf Club)
Jason Shaw (Liquid Protective Coatings)
Brian Rulyancich (Stratatac)
David Emerson (GWN7)
Michael Ursino (Albemarle)
We represent the voice of the business community and look forward to interacting with all our stakeholders and business associations to ensure that we showcase our true potential, our centres of excellence and attract investment into the key areas requiring development. Business and Communities are partners in delivering these objectives, so the pending local government elections present a prime opportunity for our community members to be fully represented, become actively engaged and have your voices heard.
We live and work in an amazingly beautiful and resourceful region which offers a healthy lifestyle, is great for families and is also attractive for business growth and development.
We should celebrate this, talk up our achievements and successes and portray a positive message that will attract talent, growth and investment.
Our new leadership team look forward to engaging with our stakeholders and meeting you at our business events and promotions in the coming months.
