FROM THE BGCCI PRESIDENT’S DESKCHRISTMAS MESSAGE – December 2019Well it has certainly been busy at the Chamber over the last month, with a continual stream of visitors, meetings and engagements and with under two weeks left until Christmas and our Festive Season Break, I am sure this trend will continue until we close for a break on Friday 20 December.  We are working on our regional major projects for 2020 and are excited to see the initial phase of the Bunbury Outer Ring Road project taking shape with scoping for the materials and skilled resources required from our region. The City of Bunbury has released their Economic Development Action Plan, which sets out the focus areas for development and investment attraction, and their Bunbury City Centre Action Plan, detailing the Vision, Objectives and Action Plans required to be a Connected, Colourful, Capable and Confident City. These documents are available to download from their website and I urge you to read them and be actively involved in positive engagement with our City. Our final Business after Hours function on Wednesday 11 December celebrated what we have achieved over the past year, and recognized the tremendous support we have received from our sponsors and corporate partners and our loyal members who are all vested in the development, growth and promotion of our magnificent Bunbury Geographe Region. Thank you for your ongoing support and guidance over the past year. Our South West Business Association Inc, which operates as a Not for Profit organisation, is largely dependent on our business volunteers and associates who provide their time and expertise without reward to guide, advise and support our staff in running the Bunbury Geographe CCI and providing services to our members and the greater business community. A huge thank you to all our Life Members, Executive Committee and the business community members who have worked tirelessly over the past year to provide these services and support.I would also like to recognise our staff and thank our CEO, Mark Seaward, Administrator, Bernadette Burton, Membership Manager, Allison Sawyer and Working Together Coordinator, Kristy Carriage for their all the efforts and hard work over the past year. There is a buzz of activity about and I sincerely hope that this creates positive trading conditions for our businesses and sets the environment for improved economic activity in the year ahead. From all of us at the Chamber, we wish you a Happy Christmas, a safe and enjoyable holiday season and most of all a prosperous year ahead.Rob SkipseyPresident BGCCI12 December 2019
