Alan Ferris is a seasoned leader with over three decades of experience in State Government, eight years of experience as an Elected Member at the Town of East Fremantle – including more than six years as Mayor. His profound understanding of local government is showcased through his influential roles in Melville, Mandurah, Bayswater, Claremont and he currently serves as the City of Bunbury's new Chief Executive Officer. As a community-focused leader, Alan is committed to propelling Bunbury's positive trajectory for residents, visitors, and investors

With a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Information Systems), Certified Practising Accountant credentials and a Fellow of Leadership WA, Alan brings an educational foundation to his leadership. His State Government tenure includes key positions like Director General of Culture and Arts and General Manager of the Perth Theatre Trust. Alan also serves on various boards, including WA Country Health as Chair of the Finance Committee, Chair the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre, he was also a part of the Palmerston Association for 11 years including 4 years as Chair. Alan is able to manage the challenges of meeting community expectations and engaging meaningfully with key stakeholders.

Outside of the finance and local government industry, Alan enjoys all sports, especially soccer and golf, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
