Wander through Bunbury’s Tree Street Art Safari
On Saturday 21 March the Bunbury’s Tree Street Art Safari will be officially open to visitors. Guests will have the opportunity to view and purchase unique and local artwork from over 90 artists, across 25 venues as they wander and meander along Bunbury’s well known, Tree Streets. Each of the event’s venues will be in gardens and yards of Bunbury residents, with many offering beverages and snacks to visitors as they pass through. Renee Carlson, Event Coordinator, said that the event is a great opportunity to gather your friends and family for a day of walking, art, and community.
“The Tree Street Safari provides local artists a new forum to showcase and sell their works to a number of new, potential customers. It’s a great way to support the local arts and events industry, as well as a fun day for the community,” Renee said.
Among the exhibits will be numerous artistic mediums including oils, acrylics, sculptures, jewellery, and pottery, as well as several community art installations:
• The Bunbury Studio Potters Group will present “Young Potters” inviting young ones to select a handmade ceramic pot, roll up their sleeves and plant a succulent to take home.
• Bunbury Primary School Exhibits “Creatures of Country” - artistic animal encounters.
• Noongar artist and master storyteller Troy Bennell brings the Noongar Story of the Trees to life through an interactive installation where audiences are welcome to contribute, connect, or quietly listen.
For a full map, check out the Tree Street Art Safari website or collect a hard copy from 1st March from BRAG, Stirling Street Arts Centre, Jacksons Drawing
Supplies, and local businesses. The “safari shuttle” a vintage car will be available on the day to ensure all the artwork is accessible to all.
